Laser-Edge Pic/Picaxe Buggy
A programmable buggy loaded with a Pic/Picaxe chip. This kit comes complete with all parts ready to construct the buggy. If teachers want to have an assembly element to their course, this buggy is designed to allow pupils as young as Year 8 (2nd years) to manufacture and program their own buggy. The buggy uses quality components and requires a simple level of assembly, including line bending the laser-cut acrylic chassis. The concept allows pupils to build a buggy using equipment and technology available within school, with the end product being of commercial quality
Low voltage lighting kit
This kit provides students with a 50mm diameter 12volt 20watt Dichroic lamp together with a ceramic lamp holder and plug-in transformer and cable. These items are intended for use in students products where teachers/lecturers can guide them in the safe use of the components in the design of their lighting designs.
Sweet Sorter PICAXE Model
Working closely with Revolution Education we have developed a "Sweet Sorter" model that utilises a PICAXE RGB colour sensor to read the colour of a sweet and then sort it into an appropriate bin. This model comes with full instructions and all the components needed (including the RGB sensor). It can be set up to sort two of the most popular makes of flat, round coloured sweets and can be used either as a demonstration model or as a piece to teach quite complex programming. A free program editor and an initial program can be downloaded from www.rev-ed.co.uk/picaxe to control the servo motor and evaluate the amount of light being bounced back from the sweet to ultimately determine its colour
